Onenote the Authentication Session Has Expired Please Signin Again
Hi Frustrated_Hollie:
Please try removing Office license files on a Mac, you can check the following steps:
1. Download the license removal tool.
2. Open the .pkg file from your Mac's Downloads folder.
Note:If you get an "unidentified developer" error, try opening the file by holdingControl + clicking the file >Open.
3. SelectContinue and follow the prompts in the setup wizard.
Caution:We recommend you double-check that you have the correct account info ready by logging into Office.com/signin and checking for the license you want to activate with.
4. When you're ready to complete the license removal, selectInstall. You may need to enter your Mac's local admin account password.
After the tool successfully removes licenses, selectClose.
5. Now open any Office app and sign in to activate with the email account associated with your Office for Mac license. If you're troubleshooting an issue, you may need to reinstall Office before signing in.
After you've successfully activated, restart your computer and then you're good to go!
Note:If your account has both a Microsoft 365 for Mac license and a one-time purchase associated with it, you'll be prompted to choose which license you want to activate with. We recommend always choosing Microsoft 365 for Mac if available.
6. Uninstall the License Removal Tool by dragging theMicrosoft_Office_License_Removal file fromFinder > Downloads toTrash.
What`s more, please share the screenshot of your subcription information for us to know the problem.
Best regards,
Tin

Hi Tin,
Thanks for your help, Tin. First of all, as I stated in my first post, I had tried to remove the Microsoft license as instructed by the Microsoft help in India. It did not work. I tried again tonight, download the license removal tool, then installed successfully. Sadly, again it did not work. However, I need some clarification.
In your post, you said "Caution: We recommend you double-check that you have the correct account info ready by logging intoOffice.com/signin and checking for the license you want to activate with.". Do you mean I should see the license number? I don't see one. I only bought one item: Microsoft Office (standalone version). Also I did not buy it from Microsoft but from Office Depot, don't know if it makes any difference. Anyway, here's the screen shots you requested. Thanks.

Hi Frustrated_Hollie:
As you mentioned that, you did not buy it from Microsoft but from Office Depot. Since you did not purchase this product from the official website, we recommend that you contact the support staff of the third-party seller for help.
Thanks for your understanding.
Tin

Hi Tin,
I cannot believe what I read from your reply. Yes, I bought it from Office Depot but they are not a technical company, I cannot get help from them in this regard. What I bought is a Microsoft product and it is not working. Shouldn't Microsoft helps its customer to make it work? Shouldn't Microsoft stand by its products? Do you represent Mircosoft? I assure you I will take this up to higher management of Microsoft to see if they agree. If they do then they will lose me as a customer forever (maybe they don't care just like you).
For whoever that might be reading this, please be forewarn, if you don't buy a Microsoft product from Microsoft website, you will be left in the cold when you have a problem with the product.
Hollie.

Hi Frustrated_Hollie:
Thanks for coming back.
Please try running Office by starting up your Mac in safe modeto see the result. This can help us check whether issues you are experiencing are caused by software that loads as your Mac starts up.
If the problem persists, try switching a new Mac uesrs to see whether can sovle your problem.
Best regards,
Tin

Thanks Tin. I've been real busy lately, I will try your suggestion later. To be honest, I am very discouraged and most likely I would just give up on this. Office Depot refuses to give me a refund so I would just take a loss.
